Single Appointment Policy
To ensure fair and timely access to appointments for all patients, our practice operates a single appointment booking policy.
This means that patients will be offered one 10 minute routine appointment at a time rather than multiple appointments booked in advance.
Why we use this policy
Demand for GP appointments continues to be high, and appointment capacity is limited. Offering single appointments helps us:
- Maximise the number of appointments available to all patients.
- Reduce unused or missed appointments.
- Ensure appointments are allocated according to clinical need.
- Improve access and waiting times across the practice.
Discussing more than one health issue
Patients are welcome to raise more than one concern during an appointment.
Where appropriate, a clinician may be able to address two less complex issues during a single appointment.
However, this cannot be guaranteed and will depend on the nature of the concerns and the clinical judgement of the doctor.
If needed, an additional appointment can be arranged.
This allows each issue to be given the appropriate time and attention without compromising the care of other patients.
We appreciate patients' understanding and cooperation.
This policy helps us use our available capacity effectively and ensures that all patients have fair access to timely healthcare.
